Melody the Musical Turtle review. I was given the product to review. Post contains affiliate links.
Leapfrog Melody the Musical Turtle is an adorable toy that will help teach your child shapes, numbers, and patterns. This toy has dynamic learning, meaning the more your child plays and learns the more difficult the games get. This toy actually grows along with your child. My little toy tester, Charlotte was immediately captivated by her toy. So much so that little Ella decided to crawl over and join the fun.
At 2 1/2 Charlotte loved this toy. She immediately began pushing buttons and exploring the toy. She needed some help to understand the concept of finding the correct numbers and colors but she caught on quickly once her mom demonstrated it.
Merriann and I were both confused about how the musical game worked. The toy was said, “Play along with me” but when Charlotte (or Merriann) would push the buttons it was making animal sounds. It was a little bit confusing to us adults, but Charlotte didn’t seem to mind. The repeat after me games were a bit above Charlotte’s head which gives her an opportunity to grow into the toy.
Later that day Merriann sent me this text: “six hours later and the turtle is in timeout. It had been in use the whole time. Charlotte was even pushing it around in the stroller for a while”.
Melody the Musical Turtle comes with an on and off switch on the bottom and a volume switch on the side. I believe any parent can appreciate that. Right now Melody the Musical Turtle is on sale for $14.96 and would make a great gift for a child in the 2-5 year age range.
Fun, math centered learning games.
Adjustable volume (high and low).
Challenging but not frustrating.
Takes 4 AA batteries (comes with toy)
We adults found the musical game confusing.
Merriann and I both give this toy a four out of five stars. The kids loved it, it has an adjustable volume so parents don’t go crazy and has lots of learning potential. I like that it is cute (and my favorite animal). We only gave it four stars because of the confusion about the musical “play along with me game”.
