Charlotte (2) and Abby (5) were absolutely captivated by the LeapFrog Count Along Cash Register. They were drawn in by the bright colors the play food, debit card and coins.

I am convinced that what drew them in the most, however, was the screen which looks like a smartphone!

Pros:

Kids get to scan food items.

Kids learn to count by adding the correct number of coins.

Kids love scanning the products and “paying” for them.

Have over 50 phrases and songs.

Volume control (high and low).

Cons:

Requires 3 AAA batteries

It makes noise. If you want a quiet toy, this one is not for you.

The play food doesn’t look realistic.

Conclusion:

What can I say? The girls loved this toy. I personally think it will get a lot of use. I think once the newness of this has worn off the kids will move on to use in along with their play kitchen to set up a grocery store.  It is really cool that you can scan the food  and then add in the correct amount of toys. I wish the food looked more realistic, but the girls didn’t seem to mind at all. Even if all of the food and coins were lost I can see a kid still pushing the buttons and using the register. I think this toy has lasting value. I am going to give this four our of five stars. To be perfect, I would like the food to look more realistic.
